Low Intervention Natural Wines from Georgia

Tilisma Winery is located in the village of Mukuzani, in the region of Kakheti, 125 km east of the capital Tbilisi. Kakheti is the main winemaking region of Georgia, accounting for about 70% of the country's harvest. It is located in the eastern part of Georgia and comprises two river basins, the Ivri and the Alazani. The climatic conditions of the region play an essential role in the formation of Kakhetian wines. The climate is influenced by the dry air from the Caspian Sea, the moist air masses from the Black Sea and the cold air masses blowing from the high peaks of the Caucasus glaciers. Mukuzani is one of the best known PDO for a red wine made from the saperavi grape variety.
